Free School Meals and Family Pandemic Payments

You may be aware that the Scottish Government have announced a phased expansion of Free School Meals. This includes the provision of FSM during school holiday periods throughout 21-22 (commencing July 2021) and the universal provision of FSM to Primary 4 and 5 children during school terms (commencing August 2021 and January 2022 respectively). A further Family Pandemic Payment of £100 will also be paid to families for each child eligible for means tested FSM this summer.

Details on both the expansion of FSM payments during school holiday periods and the £100 Family Pandemic Payment are attached and available on the SLC website – Financial support for parents/carers – South Lanarkshire Council.

Beat The Street

Today(15th March) your child was given a fob, map and parent’s letter about Beat The Street. Beat the Street is a fun, free initiative that will see Hamilton & Blantyre transformed into a giant game!
The aim of the game is to see how far you can walk, cycle, run, scoot and roll in just 6 weeks. There are great challenges to enjoy and prizes up for grabs. The game is currently planned to start on 17 March and end on 28 April 2021. For more information and to register your card and fob please visit Beat The Street website. Have fun.
